Our March Conversation Focus
Citizen Science
We’re all citizens, but can we all be scientists? YES! In citizen science, the public participates in the scientific process, addressing real world problems. Using smartphones and online apps, anyone can contribute to bird counts, biodiversity inventories and water quality data. Our Fellows routinely design fellowships around the world to then engage students in community impact. We look forward to learning from Fellows and their students alike this month.
Two-time FFT Fellow Eric Levine designed his fellowship to research public health and epidemiology at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta. On this episode, he shares why he pursued this topic, what he learned, and how he’s impacting his school and district with information about epidemics, such as COVID-19.
